The 25th World Congress on Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases took place in Rome from 9 to 14 April 2025. The organisers report that the event was attended by 8,667 people, of whom 3,998 were present in person, while the remaining participants could join online.
During the event, I had the honor of representing the Doctoral School and the Department of Gastroenterology, Dietetics and Internal Medicine of the Medical University of Poznań. During the poster session, I presented the results of research that my team and I obtained during the implementation of research on the occurrence of bone disorders in patients with celiac disease.
The first poster presented the results regarding the relationship between body composition and bone mineral density in patients with celiac disease, the second report I presented concerned the consumption of calcium and vitamin D in relation to the risk of osteopenia and osteoporosis, and the third focused on the frequency of bone disorders among patients with celiac disease and co-occurring inflammatory diseases or type 1 diabetes.
During the breaks from the symposia, it was a valuable experience to familiarize myself with the posters of other participants and talk to scientists conducting research on similar topics. In the evenings, there was also time to enjoy the warm, spring Rome.
I would like to emphasize that my participation in this prestigious congress was possible thanks to a voucher financed from the budget of the Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation, which I received for my distinction in the open reporting session of the UMP Doctoral School.
