WELCOME
Yesterday, the list of newly admitted participants of the Doctoral School, both Polish and English-speaking, was announced. Welcoming our new doctoral students, I would like to emphasise that I am happy that the number of candidates is increasing yearly and that the candidates are raising the recruitment bar higher and higher. I hope, and I am even sure, that this will imply an increasingly higher level of your doctoral dissertations. I also hope that candidates who treat science with capital ‘, meaning those who demonstrate a deep understanding and respect for the scientific method and its ethical principles, which is of great importance in the upcoming evaluation of the University, apply to the Doctoral School.
I am continually impressed by the achievements of our following graduates and take great pride in every distinction earned by the participants of our Doctoral School. Your hard work and dedication are a source of inspiration for all of us.
Ladies and Gentlemen, on October 2, the Inauguration of the Academic Year of our University will take place, with Prof. Zbigniew Krasiński as the next Rector. The Rector plays a crucial role in this event, leading the University and setting its academic direction. It is always a great day in the life of every University because it connects the present day with the University tradition, i.e. the handing over of the insignia of power of the previous Rector to the next one, in the presence of the entire academic community. Therefore, this is the moment when the new Rector, Vice-Rectors, Deans and the Senate of the University declare in front of the community of their University that in the next term of office, they will work for its further development.
As the Directors of the Doctoral School, we are deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve for another term, a responsibility we take very seriously. We are committed to the continued success of our University and, most importantly, to the growth and development of the Participants of the Doctoral School. Your contributions are invaluable, and we thank you for your dedication.
